Electric vehicle (EV) charging network startup Statiq has announced it has collaborated with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (HPCL) to set up EV charging stations across the country.

The startup states that with this alliance it aims to increase the number of public EV chargers from over 200 in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Uttarakhand to 10,000 EV charging stations by the end of the year.

These charging units will be of varying combinations of 3.3 kW or 7.7 kW chargers, which will be compatible across all EV makes and ensure that complete charging is possible within a matter of 2-3 hours for electric four-wheelers.

Akshit Bansal, co-founder, Statiq stated, "We have recently won a HPCL tender to install our EV chargers across several of their sites across India, with a heavy concentration in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Uttarakhand. What this means for our EV users is that they can soon expect a more extended network of Statiq chargers in these three states by 200+ charges, across all highways and busy roads that have an HPCL presence."
